Here’s how it works:
Choose your form: mystery mini, thumbprint cup, mug, or tea jar
Choose your decoration: single-color glaze, two-color glaze, single panel illustration, or full body illustration
Choose your quantity.
Pay half of your invoice. I’ll get started on your piece(s).
Once your pieces are complete, pay the second half of your invoice and (if applicable) shipping. I’ll send you your work!

There are a lot of options because I want you have to a piece that feels great to you!
You can choose one or two out of seven glaze colors. Or from six single-panel illustrations (+$15), four full-panel illustrations (+60). If you choose an illustration, there are 5 color options. -
Commissions close on November 2nd. First-half deposit invoices must be paid by November 9th. All items will be completed and ready for pickup or shipping by the first week of December.

Yes! Ordering 2 to 5 items of the same form, decoration, and colors receives a 7% discount. Ordering 6 or more items with identical options gets you a 15% discount.

Yes! I will consider a limited number of custom bring-your-vision-to-life projects. Unless the idea is very similar to an existing design, a $50 design fee applies in addition to the cost of the piece.

Because pottery is handmade and fired in a kiln, minor variations in color, texture, or shape can happen. Your piece will not ship if I am not 100% satisfied with the quality.
If an item arrives damaged in transit via USPS, send photos of the packaging and broken piece, and I will remake it.If you’re unhappy because of something I communicated about, I offer a 20% discount on a future order.
If there’s an error on my end, returns or exchanges are available. Return shipping is paid by you.

Each piece takes an investment of time and materials to make. I learned from many years of working too hard for too little pay and flirting with burnout that my labor has to be compensated fairly in order for it to be sustainable. I’ve priced these pieces based on the cost of materials, production, and amount of time it takes to make them so that I am able to pay myself a fair, sustainable wage.

My pricing covers the cost of materials, production, and pays me a fair, sustainable wage based on the amount of time each piece takes to make. I’m also pricing my pieces in acknowledgement of my experience as a potter. You better believe when I’ve been doing this for a decade these prices will be higher!
The Shapes
Mystery Mini
Mystery minis are no larger than 2 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall. It might be a tiny vase, a mini mug, a shot glass, or sake cup. It might have feet or be covered in polka dots! Could be a tiny skull, have an awesome texture, or be decorated with a mini cat. Who knows!?

Thumbprint Cups
Thumbprint cups are 3-4 inches in diameter. And about 4 inches tall. They hold 8-12 oz. of liquid.

Tea Jars are about 4 inches in diameter with openings between 2.5 and 3.25 inches. They are 3-4 inches tall. They hold about 1.5 cups of material.

Have you ever seen a more adorable mug?Chunky Mug
Mugs are about 4 inches in diameter, not including the handle and about 4 inches tall. They hold about 12 oz. of liquid. This handle is comfortable for most folks to hold with two or three fingers.

Single-panel or full-body illustrations can be in any of these five colors: yellow, lavendar, black, green or blue.
There are a lot of options so you can get pieces that feel like you! The order form will walk you through each of the options, step-by-step.

All items will be available for pick-up or shipping by the first week in December to arrive in time for holiday gifting. If you need your work on a specific date before mid-December, please let me know, and I will let you know if that is possible.
Orders will be completed in order of invoices paid, so your items may be ready sooner than early December.
Commissions will close on November 2nd to allow sufficient time for making your orders. First-half invoices must be paid by November 9th to ensure sufficient making time.
I’m only taking on a limited number of commissions, so order and pay your invoice soon to ensure you get a spot.

2-5 (same shape, same decoration, same colors): 7%
6+ (same shape, same decoration, same colors): 15%
When you order multiples, it allows me to make work production style, which can result in faster production, meaning I can offer a discount. That’s also why form and decoration must be consistent.
All commissions are hand made to order. No two pieces will be exactly the same!

Want something a little different?
If you have an idea for a shape or decoration that I haven’t offered in this series, I will consider a limited number of bring-your-vision-to-life projects, based on my skillset and your vision.
Unless your idea is very similar to something I already create or have created, these projects will require a $50 design fee in addition to the cost of the piece.
Complete the form below and share as much detail with me about your vision as possible. If I’m able to bring your vision to life, I’ll send an invoice and you’ll start at Step 4 above.
Potential Problems, Refunds, Exchanges, etc.
Caveat:
Pottery can be a somewhat magical and mysterious medium. Strange things can happen in the kiln. You should expect some possible variation in pieces. I’ve done my best to accurately represent the forms and finishes in photos, and taken steps to ensure as much consistency as possible, and there might be unexpected bump, wiggle, color variation, or patterning. Any form or glaze defects that impact the function of the piece are unacceptable, and your piece will be remade.
Shipping:
I will do my best to pack your order so it arrives safely. At the same time, once your package is with USPS, there is nothing more I can do to ensure it arrives in one piece. If your item is damaged in transit, I will happily re-make and re-ship it for you. In order to do this, I will need you to send photos of the condition of the packaging upon arrival and the broken item(s). I will use these photos to file a claim for damages with USPS. I cannot re-make work without these photos.
I am so happy when folks want to buy my work, and I want this to be an amazing experience for both of us. I’ve done my best to clearly communicate about what you can expect from commissioning work from me. I am always happy to answer questions and honestly set expectations. The quality of my work matters deeply to me, and I will not ship something I am not 100% satisfied with the quality of. If you have a question about your order or piece, please reach out to me at the form on this page and I’ll get back to you within 72 hours.
If you’re unhappy with your pieces:
That said, it could still happen that you are unhappy with your pieces. If your dissatisfaction has to do with something that is out of my control or that I clearly communicated in advance, (for example, I thought this would be bigger or smaller, I thought this color would be different, USPS took forever to deliver my package), the only remedy I can offer is a 20% discount on a future purchase; this is the largest discount I will ever offer because my business is small, and I don’t work at a volume where I can sustainably give a larger discount.
If you are dissatisfied for a reason that is my fault or I did not communicate about in advance, we have some options: you could exchange or return for a refund your piece or pieces. I’m not able to cover shipping costs for exchanges and returns, so you’ll need to cover the cost to ship it back. If you return work that is damaged, no exchange or refund will be provided. If returned work is damaged in transit, you will be responsible for filing a claim with USPS to get a refund the damaged work. I will provide photos of the packaging and broken work to facilitate this.

Design Review & Deposit
Within 72 hours, I’ll let you know if I think I can carry out your vision, the expected timeline, and the project cost. We might need to schedule a meeting to discuss your vision and ideas. I’ll share a sketch to confirm we’re on the same page. You’ll give final approval and make a deposit of 50% of the project cost.

Making
I’ll get to work on your project. You’re welcome to check in for updates on how things are going at any point. I’ll be taking process photos and videos to share with you.

Delivery!
Once your piece(s) is finished, I’ll send you a final photo or video of your piece(s). You’ll send the remainder of your payment. I’ll ship your piece(s) or we’ll arrange a delivery.
